==Early life==
Emily Ray was born in Campos dos Goytacazes, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She grew up in the town of Macaé. For most of her early life, Emily and her family lived in Rio de Janeiro. When she was seventeen years old, she relocated to Utah in the United States, where she continued to pursue her singing career. Emily started singing at the age of 4, writing songs at 8, and taking theater lessons at 9.
