Ben is an American experimental indie band from Lancaster, Pennsylvania formed in 2021. The band is fronted by singer songwriters Joshua Dawson and Christopher Underhill . The band is a collection of talented multi-faceted artists, namely Theodore Speros (Drums), Drew Boyer (Lead Guitar), and Alex Stapler (Bass).
The band draws from a large variety of genres, such as R&B, folk, rock, pop, reggae, and indie, resulting in a large variety in their songs. Though their music is currently unreleased, a debut EP titled “The Ben Starter Pack” and a music video accompanying one of the songs is set to be released mid-August of 2022.
Background:
The collective search for a band began with each member. In 2020, Joshua and Chrisopher began as a duo performing acoustic performances for small groups. Alex and Theo had years of prior experience working as a duo in a band known as King Street. Drew played in many bands playing a variety of instruments, most notably The Screaming Eyeballs. The meeting between Joshua, Christopher, Theo, Alex, and Drew was the perfect and necessary catalyst for the creation of Ben. Each member brings their musical stylistic abilities and preferences into a melting pot that creates the sound of Ben.
Present (2022):
Not much is known about Ben, but currently the band is seeking larger opportunities through means of performances, networking, and word of mouth. Most information about their performances are posted on their instagram @ben.is.still.ben. Ben plans on performing at Tellus 360 in their hometown of Lancaster, PA on November 26th and are seeking more opportunities as they arise.
