“I didn’t really choose this life, it chose me,” says Devonte Jenkins, the eclectic artist known primarily in the Northeast region of the United States. Devonte graduated high school with honors, even earning a scholarship to the University of West Georgia. Unfortunately, Devonte would have his plans derailed with a few run-ins with the cops during christmas break of senior year; smoking weed in a janitor closet would cause his principal to reach his breaking point. Devonte was able to still walk across the stage and finish school as need be.

“You can take someone out of the streets, but you can’t take the street out of them.” says Devonte. This lifestyle doesn’t seem to be in Devonte, but on him. Devonte quickly became a man in a prison, a jungle full of grown men where you either learn to stand ten toes down or fold up. Prison taught Devonte how to have better morals, respect, and principals. Turning his life around was for the best. Football and the league was the plan but the streets had been intercepted.

Devonte aims to motivate those around him while elevating and achieving any and every listener. Devonte feels that with every breath he takes into the mic, he exudes his angelic meanings; something like a street sermon! Devonte Jenkins has a testimony that can save the next young man from going through the trials and tribulations he has.
